Volunteer

Edge and Quarterlife virtually run on volunteers. If you’re already a volunteer – thank you. If you’re not, you’ve come to the right place.

If you’re interested in helping out, here’s what you need to know:

  1. We always need volunteers. Whether it’s Sunday nights, large events, leading small groups, or helping on missions trips, we are always in need of great volunteers. The strength of our ministry depends on it.
  2. Every volunteer needs an application. We’re working with the children of others, and we need to make sure we know who our volunteers are in person and on paper to ensure the safety and sustainability of our mission. Click here to fill out an online application – it’s the first step.
  3. We’re all about finding your “sweet spot” and forming great community. We don’t seek just to have volunteers for one-time events; our desire is for you to find the right spot in working with us. One of the best ways to discover your volunteer position is to take this spiritual gift assessment (Spiritual Gift Assessment (PDF)), and talk it over with one of our campus directors one-on-one or in a small group. That also means that if your volunteer position doesn’t exist yet, we will work to make it exist so that you can fill in to the best of your abilities. Also, each volunteer is connected by campus, so they always have a campus director they can go to for questions, training, and most importantly, a spiritual community that cares about you.
  4. Without adults and parents helping us, we will fail. Working as an adult in student ministries may seem like “intruding” or frightening, but we need adults helping us in all aspects. We are a young team, and the professionalism and wisdom that adults bring to our team is invaluable. Email a campus director to find out more about how to help as an adult or parent.
  5. Not sure where to start? Come and see a Sunday night. If you know you want to help, but just aren’t sure how, we would love to have you join us on Sunday night for one of our regional gatherings. It will give you a good idea of what we do and introduce you to an event that has helped bring God into the lives of hundreds of high school students over the last two years. Email a campus director or show up at 6:30 pm at Troy campus (map & directions). We can start the conversation from there.

If you want to talk to someone more in depth or have questions, you can always contact our Events Coordinator Courtney Markoff (courtney.markoff@kensingtonchurch.org), and she can help you get to the right place.
